    Guanajuato has one of the strongest economies in Me xico , relying on multiple sources for strength. It provides a base for world-class operations, allowing companies to perform with great efficiency and competitiveness.

    The state has a network of mid-sized cities, each with various economic strengths in a way that is unique to Latin America . Its labor force is the largest and most competitive in the center of the country. Its state government is committed to business and a sustainable economic development.

    Between 1995 and 2001, the state of Guanajuato has seen its exports increase 500 percent, reaching $7.5 billion annually. In 2001, during an uncertain international political and economic period, a diversified state economy helped maintain employment and increase exports 20 percent over the previous year.

    In recent years the state government has created new institutions, developed infrastructure and implemented foreign investment growth programs. The current government has continued the successful programs of previous administrations, establishing the conditions to launch and consolidate mega-projects for inter-city transportation and international logistics.
