     From Ciudad Chihuahua to Tijuana; Cabo San Lucas to Juárez , Me xico ’s northwest corridor is home to some of the greatest names in manufacturing.

    Here foreign investors find success assembling items ranging from guitar strings to Ford automobiles. Along the way, televisions, computers, aerospace products, and virtually everything under the sun is successfully manufactured or assembled.

    In general terms, the Pacific region is anchored around television assembly, with most of the attendant supplier industries already here or nearby. Every major television manufacturer in the world has an operation in Tijuana , B.C. and the television set you watch at home most likely was manufactured here. On the eastern edge of the region, Sonora and Chihuahua generally revolve around the auto industry. Ford Motor Company has an assembly plant in Hermosillo , Son. as well as an engine assembly plant in Ciudad Chihuahua . Delphi Automotive is Chihuahua ’s largest employer as it has maquilas throughout the state (and the rest of Me xico ) to manufacture the various parts that go into an automobile.
