           For nearly two decades, Autocircuitos de Obregon, S.A. de C.V. (ACOSA) has led the way in maquila manufacturing in Ciudad Obregon. 

            With more than 5,000 workers employed in two shifts, ACOSA is the top employer in the city and one of the top in the state.  The plant has won numerous awards and recognition since it opened in 1986; a fact Plant Manager Juan Torres Picos says is in part because every employer participates in effort to improve.

            ACOSA assembles electric wiring harnesses and is a division of Yazaki North America.  Its production goes to Daimler Chrysler.  The plat is ISO 1400 and QS 9000 certified. 

            Acosa go off to an inauspicious start in 1986.  The plant opened with 2,550 square meters of space and 200 employees.  By 1988 it was obvious the plant needed to be expanded…
