        Agribusiness has always been Ciudad Obregon’s economic mainstay, but the region with a population of 425,000 is also plowing new ground in high-tech and other maquila fields. 

            Add available fresh uncontaminated water, electric power supply, and international airport served by five airlines, the Port of Guaymas, available prime land in the middle of everything, a modern freeway to U.S.  Interstate 10, and a young industrial workforce that is one of the best educated and most productive in the nation, and you’ve got fertile soil for success.
