Eiffel

      As maquiladora processes become more high-tech, the number of construction, engineering and design firms that can properly design and build the necessary facilities becomes smaller. One Mexican company, however, has stood out for nearly two decades.

      Since its inception in 1983, Ciudad Juárez-based engineering and architectural company Eiffel has built more than 4 million square feet of industrial space. Among its recent projects is a near one million square foot plant in Gómez Palacio, Dgo. for LG. Philips Displays.

      The project involves more than 800,000 square feet of space, including clean rooms and production areas.

      It is a huge building with giant implications for the firm.

      “It was something very important for us as a company and as professionals,” says Jorge Dena, Eiffel  project manager for the LG. Philips Displays project. “It was a great opportunity and it took a great effort on our part.
