The University of
Arizona Office of Economic Development (UAOED), in partnership
with the Arizona-Mexico Commission (AMC), recently released
Arizona-Sonora Region: Indicators of Economic Progress
(Indicators), a study that examines the performance of the
region’s progress in economic development as well as regional
and global competitiveness.
During the past eight years, the states of
Arizona and Sonora have been engaged in an aggressive effort to
develop a regional economy. This project, known as the
Arizona-Sonora Project, has been coordinated by the offices of
economic development at the University of Arizona and Arizona
Sate University, and is designed to:
•Build an
integrated regional economy.
