Competition to attract and retain the
best worker in Ciudad Juárez is fierce with 375 plants, the
highest employment rate in Mexico, 50,000 people arriving each
year and annual employee turnover that can be as high as 100
perecent.
Most plants use a standard
benefits package to keep staff, but what is needed is a
cost-effective benefit that distinguishes the company. In the last
four years, the Cooperative Housing Foundation (CHF) and
Fundación Habitat y Vivienda, A.C. (FUNHAVI) have implemented a
home improvement lending program directly with five companies. The
