term partnerships with customers – offering products and
services that improve the efficiency and competitiveness of
customers’ core operations throughout the life cycle of
their production processes.
Metso Paper is the global market leader
and a forerunner in pulp and paper technology. Its product
and service portfolio ranges from new production lines,
machines, equipment and the rebuilds of them to the related
know-how and aftermarket services. It has an extensive
installed base of machinery and systems for the pulping,
papermaking, board making and tissue industry. To date, it
has supplied more than 1,500 paper and board machines and
process equipment for about 800 pulping lines to customers
worldwide. As a seasoned forerunner, it will continue
developing technology solutions that better meet the needs
and wishes of its customers and help advance the entire
industry.
Metso Paper’s technology offering gives
customers the requisites to exploit opportunities that arise
in the marketplace. While the increasing demand for paper
and board products is driving new investments in production
capacity, aftermarket services are boosting efficiency of
the existing installed base.
To ensure the quality of its services
in all market areas, it is strengthening operations and
adding service and sales resources in high-growth areas. Its
global network of regional logistics centers provides
customized and effective solutions to meet the unique needs
of its customers.

Mexicali
The company recently announced it will
supply a complete tissue machine to Fábrica de Papel San
Francisco S.A. de C.V., in Mexicali, B.C.
The tissue production line will start
in the second quarter of 2009. The value of the order is not
disclosed. The value of these types of tissue machines
ranges from EUR 10 to EUR 15 million, depending on the scope
of the delivery and the production capacity. The order is
included in Metso’s fourth quarter order backlog of 2007.
Metso’s scope of the delivery will
comprise a complete Advantage DCT 100TS tissue machine. The
design speed of the 2.6-m-wide tissue machine is 2,200
m/min. The new tissue line will use 100 percent recycled
fiber as raw material and will add another 30,000 tons per
year of bathroom tissue, napkin and towel to the company’s
existing production.
Fábrica de Papel San Francisco now
operates three tissue production lines and converting
facilities, delivering tissue products for the Mexican
market.
The Mexican tissue production amounted
to approximately 800,000 tons in 2007. During the previous
four years the annual production growth has been
approximately 4 percent. The Mexican tissue producers mainly
serve the domestic market.

board manufacturers worldwide. The company creates long-term
customer relationships, offering its customers products and

with its customers, Metso Paper develops the efficiency and
competitiveness of pulp and papermaking processes.
