Wiring Harnesses

           Fully one of every three cars on the road has some sort of wiring harness product manufactured by Yazaki. George Perry, president and chief operating officer of Yazaki North America Inc., recently spoke about changes he sees coming in the relationships and responsibilities between automotive manufacturers and harness makers.

           Even before 2002, when electro-mechanical components began replacing hydraulic-mechanical ones, vehicle electronics was becoming increasingly more integrated and telematics and mobile computing grew more prevalent, we were concerned about where all of this would lead.

           By 2002, the issue became more complex.  The development of the Internet led to a state of interconnectedness that people were beginning to take for granted. We may not have thought much about it, but we were living in what was fast becoming a networked world.
