We all know of Ford’s Quality Policy
Statement, “Quality is Job One.” This philosophy has served
Ford well over the past decade – the proof is in the quality of
the product it manufactures. As a service provider to the
automotive industry, Mach 1 Air Services, Inc. has always taken
our customers’ quality programs to heart when conducting
business with them.
That’s why the company took the needed
steps to become ISO 9001-2000 certified in 1998. That year, our
annual sales were less than 10 percent of our current figure –
which was less than $10 million per year. For a freight
forwarder of our size to make a bold decision to become
ISO-certified that year was unheard of.
Why was it so important to become
certified? What difference would this make on a small freight
forwarder? Was this simply a marketing ploy? Our mission as a
company is to provide premier service to our customers, and our
quality policy statement reflects this commitment. We have
always put our patrons first. All of our employees are reminded
every day as they walk into the office that it is the customer
who pays the bills and to always make sure that the customer is
