Across the Mexico-U.S. border, FedEx sees
companies rely on the practice of stockpiling inventory near
borders as contingency planning for shipments that miss their
delivery window.
Compounding the problem are stressed
transportation systems straining to handle Just-In-Time delivery
expectations as supply chains stretch across multiple countries
and continents.
FedEx is convinced of the benefits nations
could obtain from the correct implementation of the North
American Free Trade Agreement. Since its enactment, thousands of
Mexican businesses have been able to compete in the global
marketplace. FedEx supports Mexican and U.S. policies that aim
to open the border.
Recently, FedEx Corporation announced the
expansion of the FedEx Transborder Distribution service for
cross-border trade between Mexico and the United States.
The enhanced solution provides importers
and exporters with a portfolio of FedEx services designed to
simplify cross-border trade and help their businesses flourish.
