Lintel
Comes to State

One
of the biggest names in the maquila industry has come to
Guanajuato, more evidence of the state’s emergence in the race
to attract foreign investment.
For more than two decades, Constructora Lintel has designed
and built functional, award-winning commercial and light
industrial facilities in Mexico, most of them for subsidiaries of
prestigious U.S. corporations operating in Mexico.
Founded in 1983 by Federico Barrio, Ricardo Betancourt and
Jose-Antonio Gonzalez, the firm has primarily concentrated
activity farther north, although it also has a presence in
Guadalajara. After a thorough study of Central Mexico, Lintel
decided to build an industrial park in Silao, Guanajuato. The
first phase of the park known as Las Colinas Industrial and
Business Park, was scheduled to open Sept. 1.
