EarthShell Hidalgo has received a
significant order from Wal-Mart of Mexico for EarthShell
Packaging plates and bowls.
The order represents the first
opportunity for consumers outside the United States to purchase
and use EarthShell products. EarthShell Hidalgo has informed
the company that it anticipates product should be available at
Wal-Mart, Mexico.
EarthShell Hidalgo’s license provides
exclusivity to all market segments in Mexico. Hidalgo will
procure product for this retail order from EarthShell’s
U.S.-based licensee, ReNewable Products, Inc. (RPI). EarthShell
Hidalgo and RPI are working jointly to amend packaging language
and product count to meet the customer’s needs.

EarthShell’s new momentum and bring the first
EarthShell products to the Mexican consumer,” said David Maczka
of EarthShell Hidalgo.
EarthShell Hidalgo recently completed
construction on the first phase of a 150,000 square foot
manufacturing facility located on a 25 acre parcel close to the
capital city of Pachuca, Hidalgo. EarthShell Hidalgo plans to
invest approximately $50 million in completing a
state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for EarthShell Packaging
while creating new employment opportunities in the local market
area.
Ultimately, this new facility will be
capable of housing 96 EarthShell Packaging equipment modules
with appropriate warehouse space. The new manufacturing
facility is strategically located in close proximity to the
greater Mexico City market, one of the world’s fastest growing
food service disposable packaging markets, and home to more than
30 million people. This new facility will initially focus on
manufacturing EarthShell plates and bowls, but will also be
capable of producing future foam laminate products developed by
EarthShell Corporation, such as...
